Martin Luther King Jr.

You may know the name of Martin Luther King Jr. He is one of the most famous Americans who have ever lived.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a great leader for people in America who wanted to have change in their society. King was born on January 15, 1929 and he was murdered in 1968. King lived in a world where there was a lot of trouble between black people and white people. There was a lot of anger. There was a lot of violence. But King would not be violent himself, and he was a leader for non-violent protesting.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of great intelligence and passion for life. He is very famous for his speech called, “I have a dream”. When we understand more about Martin Luther King Jr. we learn about his idea that we need to have peace in our world. We learn that we need to learn more about people and cultures that are different from our own cultures. We need to believe that all people are equal and that all people are important. To Martin Luther King Jr., every person you meet could be a member of your own family. We need to be kind and peaceful with everyone we meet. We need to think about how people from different cultures have the same feelings, the same troubles, the same wishes, and the same dreams.

We all have the same dream.

Many people thought that the trouble between people of different cultures should be over many years ago. Martin Luther King Jr. was killed almost 50 years ago, and our world has changed a lot. But there are many things that are still not good. We still have people in North America who believe that we need violence between white and black people. There are some people who believe that all Muslim people need to be sent to countries like Pakistan and Iran. There are some people in America who are angry with Mexico and that Mexican people should have a wall between them and the rest of the world.

These kinds of feelings, these angry feelings at Muslim people and Mexican people, come from a heart of hate and anger. The people who want to hurt Muslims and Mexicans believe that violence is a solution to our problems in the world. But we know from our history that violence does not fix anything. Violence will only make more violence.

Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of peace, and he was a man who believed in education. When we see hate and bad ideas in the world we need to use a peaceful and intelligent way to push back. We must use our minds. We must understand science. We must learn more, and read more, and think more about how to find solutions. The education we have is a powerful tool for peace. The people who think violence is our way to fix problems are usually not very well educated. We need to do better. We need to continue to read, and think, and find information, and talk with our teachers, and grow our brains. We need to know what is truth, and what is fact. We need to know that opinion and feeling is not equal to intelligence and wisdom. We need to use our books and our brains to increase peace in the world. We need intelligence and we need peace.

We need to continue to move forward. We need to make the dream of Martin Luther King Jr. a real thing for all people everywhere in the world. We have the dream, but now we must make the dream our real world.
